Overview
The Pencil Cactus (technically a Euphorbia, not a true cactus) is one of the most architecturally striking plants you can own. Its cylindrical, pencil-like stems branch repeatedly to create a sculptural, tree-like form. It's native to Africa and India where it grows into a large tree — indoors it stays manageable. It thrives on neglect and is one of the most drought-tolerant plants available. Important: the white sap is toxic and a severe irritant — always wear gloves when handling.
